The Huntington Library Scavenger Hunt was a hit!

The scavenger hunt at the Huntington Library was so much fun! It was great to see families having fun and meeting new friends. On the picture above we have the first five families that finished the scavenger hunt. There were ten families in total and they all finished the hunt because they thought it was fun. The kids were curious to see all the awesome places and art that this beautiful place holds. The hunt only had a few things to find from each area to make everyone explore/see those areas and walk by others not in the hunt. After the hunt all the families decided to stay and explore some more of those areas that caught their interest during the hunt.

The Saillant's were the first prize winners! They will be enjoying an annual membership, congratulations!
We did a compilation video of all the best images that the families took while in the hunt and the video is so much fun to watch, check it out below. As you already know, we did our scavenger hunt through CityStalking.com and you can check out our video and some of their fun videos there too!
Thank you all for the support and taking the time to come out and play. We can't wait for the next event! Be on the look out for more info soon.

Thanksgiving Card Print out

Thanksgiving is almost here! Only 10 more days, can you believe that! Time to get the family together, celebrate and be thankful! I have created a Thanksgiving card that you can print out to send to family or friends! Just print the card, fold in half and write something from your heart inside. Just click on the image to download or click here and print. Make this greeting card your own by adding your own greeting inside. Here are a few examples:

"Thankful everyday! Happy Thanksgiving!"
"I'm so thankful for you!"
"From our family to yours, Happy Thanksgiving!"

Do you like the card? What will your greeting say?

Wishing you all a joyful Thanksgiving!

Hugs!

Thanksgiving Turkey for kids table!

Thanksgiving is just around the corner, a time to celebrate with family and be grateful! Not that we shouldn't be grateful every day but it's an awesome day to gather the family. I always try to do something fun for the kids! It is important to teach them to be grateful, appreciate family and help other's that are not as fortunate. But we also want to make this day fun! Great memories are always cherished and this super cute turkey is a great way to decorate and entertain the kids! I first saw this when it was featured on the Martha Stewart show, created by crafter Sara Westbrook from One Charming Party. I just thought it was such a fun idea and the kids would love it at their table, specially because it is filled with popcorn.

There are so many cute Thanksgiving crafts to do for the kids and home on Pinterest, check out our Thanksgiving board here.
What kind of things do you do for the kids on Thanksgiving? Do you have any Thanksgiving traditions?

Until next time, be good little owls, bye-bye!

Charlotte's Web

This week's featured film on Ollie's blog is Charlotte's Web by E.B. White - Director Gary Winick.

This Saturday we got to be home early enough to be able to watch a movie with our little owl, before bed time. As we flipped through the family movies on Netflix, I saw Charlotte's Web! Who has not read the book, so I thought my little owl would like this movie and I was right. She was very entertained with all the talking farm animals and believe it or not was following the plot pretty good for a three year old. I have to say that I loved the movie just as much as I loved the book! And my little one did too! The animation of the animals was just so realistic (Charlotte was so cute, and I'm not very fond of spiders) They did a great job representing each character's personalities. In short, awesome movie!

Just like I mentioned before, ask your kids what they like about movies they watch and their answers will amaze you either with straight up short honesty like: " I liked it" or "I loved it". Or with an amazing story, question or re-tell of their favorite part. I cried at the end, I couldn't help it! My little one took a look at me and just gave me a big hug.  So when I asked her if she liked the movie, her reply was very authentic: "Yes I did mamma, I'm Wilbur and you are Charlotte". It was too cute!

The true message/lesson of this movie was aimed at us adults. We can learn so much from our kids, we just have to listen. Their innocence makes them transparent and true. Let's pay attention.

Did you read the book when you were a kid? Have you watched the movie? Did you like both?

I would love to read your comments so please share!

Until next time. Be good little owls. Bye-bye!

Words of Wisdom, Let it be!

A few years ago I saw this really cute bracelet at the Paper Source Store in Pasadena that had an owl charm and the little cardboard holding the bracelet had these words on it "Words of Wisdom, Let it be". I thought it was really cute to pair an owl charm with those words so then I thought that would be a great idea for a calendar, calling it Words of Wisdom, Let it be and each month showing a cute owl drawing or picture. Or just one owl picture for a one page calendar. Well, that is why I did this sketch below in hopes of making my own calendar to gift to my friends and family. I think I might do it this Christmas!

What do you think? Would you hang this picture up as a calendar if it was given to you as a gift? :)

Have a great night!

Hugs! Karla
